Magic morning is getting in the park 1 hour early and no you don't need reservations for that. You do need a pass for it as well as each park has certain days they only do magic morning. Also some days the park may open earlier or later than expected. So check ahead for the days you will be there.

Anything that you do in Disneyland and the surrounding areas will have you standing in line. Make a reservation so you stand in line for a lot less time. Not just in Goofy's Kitchen, but anywhere else you can.
