FYI Sawyers is operated by two seniors in their 80’s, also am a Korian war veteran still working 27 hrs daily. We are not here to “soak the tourists”. The perception by some “locals” is that we are expensive. We specialize in quality Seafood which is very expensive! It is the menu board you see first when entering Sawyers! The rest of our offerings are very competitive. Come on in and say hello! We do welcome your comments! We just installed a new POS system and will soon be offering a loyalty program to regular customers!
I’m adding a response because it’s really necessary. I stumbled on these questions as I looked to see when Sawyers closes for the season. I think the person saying they ‘soak’ the tourists is deliberately trying to hurt the business which is completely unethical. There is no evidence to support that claim (e.g. a restaurant with cheaper lobster rolls and better reviews). As someone who grew up in the Lakes Region and knows options of seafood all over the world and the region, I’m trying to see when sneak back to Sawyer’s for a lobster roll and fried clams. Is it cheap? No. But, it isn’t overpriced at all for seafood and the quality and amount of food. People who know anything about seafood know you simply cannot get the quality and amount anywhere else for less. So...if you are a tourist don’t avoid this place, go twice, it’s the sort of food that makes your vacation amazing and memorable. Or...save a few bucks and go buy cheap burgers...that’s what people really want in New England!
Food wasn't that great.
Did not have senior, military, or any other discounts. This is a "soak the tourists" former New Hampshire icon restaurant that is located in a high visibility, high travel location.
Did not ask, but the food is good!
