There are views from the parking lot at the end of the toll road. Not as good as the ones from the chin but they are still very nice.
I hiked with my niece several 2 years ago. I walk with two canes. I did not get all the way to the summit, but there are gorgeous views all the way up. I went as far as I could and where I stopped to rest it was flat and I was able to get various views by walking around on the flat area. My niece tried to get to the summit, but she realized it would take her considerable time and she came back down. When on the flat I felt like a greater because alot of hikers past by and that was a pleasant experience. Allow yourself plenty of time. I will hike it again some day. I have to have total knee replacements in both knees. Enjoy your hike. The views are breathtaking.
