No one asked me the ID eventhough they mention it is needed. Maybe in case of dispute on the nyc bus.
No ID requested if you have your printed ticket.
You technically don't need an ID to ride the bus, but for purchase of the ticket you do..

I've ridden bus for years and never had to show ID.
They say you need one though, so they must be reserving the right to ask for it at some point. I've never asked me and I write it all the time.
