There is no publicly available phone number. They will also most likely be unable to help you if you don't have an appointment. Like most rescues, they run on donations and are understaffed. Best way is to go on their website and fill out an adoption form and request to meet a few dogs of your choice (this does not mean you need to commit to adopting). Good luck. Thank you for adopting!
You can just show up, but check the web site for hours. There's no phone, but you can e-mail. Also, a lot of dogs are in foster homes, not the center, so if you have a particular one on mind, ask first. Saturdays they're often showing dogs at 18th and Castro.
I work there and yes you can walk in. If you walk in then do it on a weekend!
