It is a great resource for educators who are serving low income families. They have friendly staff that can assist you in locating books you need.

Hidden jewel. Loved the inspiration of books and the way the organization volunteers for the community.

I love the Children's Book Project and am totally glad there is such a wonderful resource for teachers, preschool education centers, after school community programs and daycare facilities. The gently used books can bring a smile to no or low income kids, as well as completing classroom libraries to support literacy at schools. They carefully select books that will go to the underserved areas of San Francisco. As well as selecting books for your program, you can also bring books for donation. I am extremely grateful for the dictionaries the CBP provided to the 3rd grade classes at the SFUSD school I volunteer at.

I haven't been there since they were in the Bayview, but I got so much for my World Language Department. I am the Chair of the department and I was able to get books/videos in French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Hebrew, and Mandarin. Saved us from using our budget on class sets of dictionaries, as well as ancillaries.

We rely on year-round children's book donations to serve the growing need of our most vulnerable children. Hours by appointment at childrensbookproject.org.
I'm not sure if you're asking whether it's okay to get or donate books for junior high kids but they have books for all reading levels and ages so I'm sure the answer to both questions is yes!
