Be careful if you're looking to foster. They tire the dogs out before introducing them so it's difficult to get a real gauge on their baseline energy and personality. If you're looking to foster a dog with a high energy level their contract sets you up for failure since they don't want you to let the dog of leash, go to a dog park, have a dog walker, and do the things that a dog needs to actually be a good pet. When you foster you're taking a dog who can get exercise and be social at the shelter then take all of that away because the contract you sign covers any possible liability that the shelter might face it's not a recipe for a successful foster/adoption.

Friendly and patient. Got to bring are baby in to play with the pup we were interested in 😊 Very clean inviroment. Dogs are well taken care of. Adoption was very simple. Now my husband has a new truck dog his name is Dozer. We have him a new name. Thanks for being there for him.

Staff was so friendly and, even though they were incredibly busy, they attentively helped us choose the right match for us, answered our many questions, and gave us important advice. We love our little cutie pie!

People there are amazing and extremely nice and my puppy and others there are very well behaved and are in great shape, they are the best animal rescue I've been to 💙

They don't have a direct phone number as all the volunteers are always busy. The best way to contact them is through their webform or email...
Nope!
Yes. They all kinds of dogs. Old and young. Please check them out! And you can always foster for a day or take them for an adventure and return by 730pm!
Definitely!
Yep... This is a great place to make donations too, clean old blankets & pillows & storage bins and misc other items are welcomed
There is no publicly available phone number. They will also most likely be unable to help you if you don't have an appointment. Like most rescues, they run on donations and are understaffed. Best way is to go on their website and fill out an adoption form and request to meet a few dogs of your choice (this does not mean you need to commit to adopting). Good luck. Thank you for adopting!
Not that I can recall. But there are many dogs that come in so it would be better if you went to check it out first hand.
I'd recommend any of the other shelters in the area eg sf spca or berkeley humane or the sf animal control center
She has! Skippy (a Chihuahua with similar wheelchair needs) is still looking for a family! He's a love.
Hi there, I’m so sorry to hear this! Animal Care and Control is the best place to surrender a dog if you can no longer care for them. They do a great job of also partnering with local rescue organizations to get your pups happily rehomed. I hope this helps and wish you the best!
