Today we saw a mama deer with two does, a mama duck with some ducklings, a snake, a bunch of beautiful Settler’s Jays, some big birds and butterflies.
Our park has an abundance of wildlife that live in the park. There are 27 different types of snakes, deer, turkey, boar, turkey vulture, bob cats, grey fox, barn owls, racoons, skunks, mountain lions and much more. The youth science institute has animals on display that you can see with a small entrance fee to see their animals. The YSI staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
The Youth Science Institute's Nature Center has live and taxidermy animals on display. Hours are limited because the staff teach education programs during school hours.
Inside the Youth Science Institute there are a variety of bugs, amphibians and reptiles on display. They even have several live owls and two adorable chinchillas!
There are squirrels every were, you can see deers, I have seen turkeys, I have also seen ruttle snake once and I heard people say they have seen a mountain Lion but never encountered one my self. I hope this is helpful.
