If you go to customer service on floor one, they will give you credit for parking.
There is no free parking and very few public street parking spaces in the Union Square area. Your best and nearest option is the underground garage under the Union Square park which is immediately across the street from Macy's main entrance on Geary Street. There is an early bird special of $17 if you enter by 8:30am and leave by 6pm. Otherwise it is about $5 per hour.
You can find street parking but its safer to park inside the parking garage which are everywhere near macys.

On the streets, it's really hard to find parking with meters, although there are nearby parking garages which you also have to pay.
