Reviews look scary here. Has anyone had issues recently w/overcharged & hot tub guess hard/dirty water? doors don't lock on cabins? These are all in reviews N replies back from a staff is anything changed here? Which cabin is worthy? Or stay away?

My brother and his wife stayed here before and was not thrilled with it, recommend to not get a small studio and a 2 bedroom because there so small and if 1 bed sucks you can at least move to another lol. Plus you want a kitchen. But looks like most negative reviews are on TripAdvisor your probably referring to. I can say this, they have a groupon and it's if not the same price or more, so there trying to advertise probably for new good reviews usually as they are not new so maybe they updated things? Its understanding one don't want a bad vacation because of where there staying is horrible either. There are alot of places there that go over price with tax and any fees up front thou and don't Surprise you. I would say it's a hit or miss. My brother says no go and if you do get at least 2 bedroom for a normal size space lol. Wish best of luck. P.S. You can always have a backup spot to go planned if you show up and it is drama thou, something I would recommend incase.

We stayed in cabin #13 this past weekend. The lodge itself is decent. Before our trip, Don was very accommodating, great communication. The pros: - it's like a 3 cabin in 1 - 1 fully equipped kitchen - 1 mini kitchen features stove/oven sink (last room) - parking space (up to 4- if the other cabin/different lodge doesn't get there first) - AAA discount Cons: - WIFI didnt work - no two futons in living area only 2 sofas and love seat - across the street - no tea - the heat was always on (no on or off switch) - some windows had no screens (so couldn't leave it open all might bc of bugs) - no tv in the last room (would have been nice) Thank you Golden Bear Cottages!

I stayed last winter and it was great. Didn't have any issues with the place we stayed in. I don't remember which unit we stayed in though.

We stayed in Cabin #5 July 7-11. The cabins are old but we loved it. The doors locked fine. The door going to the little backyard area was loose but no issue. Some of the windows didn't lock right but I never felt unsafe. They're very quiet and quaint. We will be returning! Also, it was great being able to drink tap water. We live in Sacramento, can't do that here!
