The only thing I would add is that the Hayward location when compared to locations like Oakland is not as congested so you are able to get in and out relatively quickly wow I did notice the appointment line was long and I was able to complete my registration within the same time frame as them so you can just go in if you're not able to complete renewal online
Go to DMV website, login to your account and see if you are eligible for file your renewal online. If not, go through the required docs and application online, the make an appt before you go to the local DMV
