Yes, this is a shelter. Donations like detergent, fabric softner, blankets, FOOD are welcomed. $200 for a rescue puppy prevents it from becoming BAIT. Be nice. These people work hard for volunteers ~ maybe you should stay a day & see how things work!
Adootion costs are depending upon various things ...such as medical costs...food ...general health maintenance as a rescue we too have to charge adoption fees and ours as well are based upon the care of these animals. There is No profit monetary wise.the only profit teally is the the satisfaction of saving lives that matter thst is number 1 priority ...SO please don't look down on a shelter or a rescue for the rehoming fees because trust me...there is that cost as well as many other That are usually entailed with each individual animal..Safety is also a big issue if we just GIVE animals away that makes it VERY easy for people with ill inter to aquire an animal that has already been traumatized to be even more traumatize usually ending in that animals death.
My son went and got his puppy (Avery) from there. She had been there THREE YEARS!!! Can you imagine how much it cost them to maintain this animal for the duration of her stay?? AND they gave him a vet vouture for her fisrt wellness check at a vet of his choice. Also, gave him a leash, collar, bag of food, treats and her blanket she had since she got there. It isn't cheap to maintain those animals their! A non kill shelter at all cost!!! By the way, THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU VOLUNTEERS DO!!!! By the way, Avery is AMAZING! Her and my son are Best Buddies!!!!
I just adopted from southeats
If I adopt from a shelter I'll go to the shelter my family got out pit mix from in Georgia. Adoption fee is low for all animals because they want them in a home as soon as possible. 90 for puppies under a year and 70 for adult dogs, cats and kittens 50 and livestock adoption up to 100-200. Back ground checks are done as well as home checks. So the whole price thing being high because of not wanting animals to be bait is just a far out excuse for why dogs stay here for years. There are other ways of ensuring an animals safety and price is not one of them because baiters and fighters don't care. They'll get their money back regardless. Sorry to bust anyone's bubble.
