I think that is a great idea! Amazing weather, and whenever you go you will see something. Since it is June, the waters will be warmer so it is great time to go!
We went in November and they said it was the time the whales were migrating from North to South and we did sight a lot of them. It would be good to check once. The staff there are really good.

There are two seasons for whale watching in Monterey Bay, home of a world-famous aquarium. Visit from mid-December through mid-April to see gray whales, dolphins and killerwhales migrating, or visit from mid-April through mid-December to see humpback whales, blue whales, dolphins and killer whales.
