Captain Joey & Naturalist Natalie were an awesome team! We had friends in from out of town and had only used the Elkhorn Slough Safari company before (they were closed for maintenance). We were pleasantly surprised with Monterey Bay Eco tours beautiful boat and relaxing, educational, and informative trip ;)

Super awesome tour and well worth the money. We saw lots of wildlife like seals, sea lions, and otters. I think this tour really outcompetes the others because of all the ecological knowledge the tour guides. A must see to add to your list!

You go out on a catamaran with the captain and a naturalist. You get to see sea animals and lots of different birds. Very comfortable ride, you can get up and walk around on the boat. Very cool. Joey was a great captain and Natalie was very informative. We saw lots of otters!!

We attended the tour on the weekend of my girlfriend's birthday and it was great! Beautiful trek up the slough with plenty of wildlife activity happening all around us. Sun bathing Harbor Seals, snack munching Otters and a variety sea birds made sure there is never a dull moment. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic! We appreciated how our guide had plenty of knowledge to share and how questions and input were welcome from the guests. The captain was an excellent navigator and both of them had a very keen eye for everything happening around us. We both agreed that it was an experience worth recommending to friends and others whenever they find themselves in the area.

Our Tour brings you up the Elkhorn Slough which is a critically important shorebird site according to Western Hemisphere Shoebird Reserve Network. Along with seeing a diverse population of birds from Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Brown Pelican, Marbled Godwits and a plethera of other birds. You will see Otters enjoying the bounty and protection of the Slough. Perhaps eating fat inn keeper worms, clams and fish or possibly just playing with their pup. Sea Lions abound in the harbor looking for scraps from the fishing boats. Harbor seals can be seen typically lounging on the shore sleeping off a long night of hunting but also can be seen swimming up the Elkhorn Slough.
Absolutely! We love it when our passengers bring drinks and snacks to accompany them on this educational tour jam-packed with wildlife up the Elkhorn Slough. We are also proud to say that we have a bathroom on board for your convenience.
Yes, we do! Our boat was intentionally built for educational purposes, retreats and team building experiences. As it is a spacious catamaran with an open deck plan there is plenty of room to mingle, cater and enjoy the wildlife on the calm waters of the Elkhorn Slough.
