Always best to visit our site or message board directly with questions rather than third party site. We will not catch a question, and my time is focused on direct communication with folks. Subjective question, fishermen go in different directions on this one based upon conditions, area fished, personal preference. Mono offers better abrasion resistance, it's less visible to fish, offers some stretch, too. So, it can prove helpful, for most uses. The braid offers increased line capacity so we can fish smaller gear, 1/3 the diameter of mono. Some will run straight braid, forget the mono and go with fluorocarbon leader when bait fishing. With the hollowcore braid you have, you gain some line capacity, can run knot or go in-line knotless connection. In your situation, based upon my understanding of your note, I'd be thinking 25 feet of mono minimum, then would trim as needed. But, again there's no rule, it's a subjective answer which you'll discover yourself thru your own use.
