We went on the first session of the day and mid week. Only issue was school kids, but it was not bad. They try to regulate the flow and did it pretty well. I could see later in the day it could get more clogged up as people lag behind. They do not have headsets but a little device with a speaker and buttons to select what display you are at. Not all displays have a voice description, I'd say more than half, maybe three quarters do. If he wants to visit the exhibit then I would explain all the to him, get tickets to an early session and during the week and not on the weekend. If he understands all this and wants to go, it's a once in a lifetime event and I'd do it. They say it will not be coming back.
They have tour info and also the exhibit was very cramped with my stroller so it might be difficult. My daughter had a hard time seeing much of the jewelry or small items that were displayed high up. A lot of the info was displayed on the top of the display. It wad interesting but s lot of the wow was in the details that were difficult to see.
They do have a headset guided tour, it cost extra
