This my first time there was nice as well Camp plenty of parking and also had a fitness equipment there plus close to the river so you can walk on the Riverwalk

COYOTE ALERT - Do not walk small dogs unleashed near any Los Angeles park or natural area, especially around sundown to sunup. Do not leave small pets or children unattended for one second. Coyotes have been spotted recently, corresponding to several lost small dogs around Elysian Park, Debs Park, Highland Park, Marsh Park, CSULB, L.A. River and other open natural areas. Coyotes can lure and kill small dogs silently and stealthily. Enjoy the park with your leashed pet!

Yes. I believe it is first come, first serve situation. It you arrive early enough in the morning, you can set up on the picnic tables without making advanced arrangements.
