Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop - All questions

Address: 2 New Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA

Nope. It is a small cafe.

It's really small. I don't think you need a tour. There's a factory somewhere in SF, but this is just a coffee / snack / dessert bar/place.

There is no tour, it's more of a cafe now days. They've few machineries you can look @ on how they used to make the chocolates. You can just look @ it while you wait for your orders. Nothing special.

When the factory was in SF, they used to have tours. The factory is now in San Leandro and I could not find any credible information on the tours. But every September in SF, Ghirardelli hosts a Chocolate Fair for 2 to 3 days from ice cream tasting to eating contests and events for kids. The SF shops are merely stand alone ice cream, chocolate and dessert places now. However, Ghirardelli Square is an experience all unto itself with many eateries, specialty shops and of course, dessert. There is a rich history in the Square and that alone is worth the trip.
