Don't know if you got your answer yet but yes you do qualify in CA. You will need a letter from a Veterans Service Office that verifies that you are rated at 100% service connected, (you can download this letter from 'myebenefits' website) take it to the Assessors' Office and they will guide you to the appropriate dept/paperwork. Each state is different. I don't know about California property tax but I googled your question and this is what I found: The exemption amount is based on income, as determined by the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs. A 100 percent disabled veteran or any veteran over the age of 65 is exempted from paying the taxes on the first $20,000 of assessed value on a self-occupied property.
