Depends on your weather of preference. As far as I know you can expect the little shops to be open all seasons, but I bet holidays would be nice there.

There are neat activities year round. During the fall it is cool to visit for the Dia de los Muertos (day of the dead) festivities and altars.

Any time you go is great!! They have events all the time it just depends what type of weather you prefer. Fall & Winter are my favorite. Day of the Dead 11/1 & 11/2 big celebrarion. Christmas season is amazing!!

Its been my experience that Fall and Spring are the best times, followed by Winter and Summer. That takes into account weather, tourists, traffic, etc.
