It's about an hour out to sea, and the waters on the way out tend to be choppy. We spent most of the time sitting, as it was harder to find our sea legs than expected. Grandma might have a hard time getting on and off the boat, and the child might have a hard time sitting still for that long, but that's probably the parts of highest concern. If you think those factors will be manageable, then by all means go for it! It's truly breathtaking to see a whale in their natural habitat.
Grandma maybe ok, if only a cane. I personally would ve concerned about a 3 year old. Its a 1 hr 45 min ride out to the whale area.
If grandma is mobile enough to get on the boat, they provide help for older people, she doesn't get seasick, which also applies to the 3 year old and mom, she should be OK on the trip. The trip I went on had older people with disabilities who needed help gettingoard including myself. Their were young children on board also, but having an attention span on a 5 hour ride like I had may be a problem. And always keep in mind the weather and sea conditions the day you plan to go, will effect everything. It was a great trip and we enjoyed every minute.
I agree would be hard to enjoy trip.
