My pass port is no longer good. I need a new one to travel in late Jan. 2019/ Feb. Should I make an appointment in the Portsmouth office soon or should I go to my local Post Office and do the process there? Will I get my new pass port back in time?

Go to passport office directly. I work there. You do not need an appointment. They take walk ins. We open at 800 am. Bring new pictures old passport and drivers license.

Bill, if you work at the Center, you know it depends on when their passport was issued, when it expired, were they under 16 when it was issued...going the normal route, ie; mail-in, or post office will get the passport back in time for their travel without having to pay the $60.0] expedite fee, which is automatic when you go to any Agency or Center.
