Emily was 16 in love with a wealthy boy. A marriage was not approved of. The young people decided to meet at midnight at the bridge to run away. He never showed up and she jumped off the bridge to her death on the rocks below.
Old enough to get married. I think she was murdered by the boy's parents and the story of suicide created as a cover up.
She was supposedly a teenager. Not sure exactly what age.
