Are there any areas to walk a large dog nearby?

There are two large parks located within walking distance from the hotel. Pioneer Park and Westhaven Park. There is also a school with a fairly large field located almost directly behind the hotel. There is definitely places to walk a large dog in the area. Additionally, Newport Beach and Huntington Beach are both very nice beaches that are fairly close and well worth the drive.

The location is all city and street surfaces. There isn't a park close by if that is what you're wondering.
