Registration has change you no longer have to register every 3 years when you register now new registrant is for a lifetime and it is your responsibility to update your profile that's a good thing I think after you have worked as a background actor non-union for consistent 6 years you should get more than minimum wage pay

That's brutal. They could make it easier but it kind of eliminates the people when don't really want to do it. Also I have had to be on set at 5:00 am many times so you mighr as well get used to it. But I usually have someone drop me off later in the AM like 8:00 AM but I'm union and it's a smaller group. People think background is an easy job but it isn't. But it does get a lot easier when you're union. 10/27/19 update Registration has all changed. Now you must get an appointment online. Also don't forget that Central Casting is the oldest and biggest background Casting company but there are about 20 others in LA. You can get work with them too. But register with Central first.
