Morning did seem to be really good. They were up and about to bring to me a beautiful new sight. However going closer to winter I'd personally go in the afternoon. Warmer parts of the day for some people would seem to make for a better experience. I prefer low temperatures but, all people don't always have the same opinion as me.

We took the first boat out for the 4 hour trip that gave us rest of day to ourselves. It was around 8:30 and we saw pods of dolphins, seals and whales

We have been on 3 trips ajd the morning seemd to be better for us. But it gets cold.

I suggest afternoon simply due to the weather being slightly warmer. However, you will still need to bundle up as though it is late December as being on that water going 12 knots, gets cold. I just went last Saturday in the evening and a hoodie and shorts simply does not cut the cold.

We've had luck at both times. However, the morning trips can be quite cold, being a jacket and pants. Maybe a scarf.
