The picnic area usually sought out are on the north side. Drive to the end of Bolivar drive park and walk along the path past the bathrooms; there you will find more picnic areas.
There are parking areas at either end of the park (off Shellmound for the south, at dead end of Bolivar for North end). Various picnic spots can be found by walking along the paved walkway.
