Holds are a process. Unfortunately it is up to the doctor for discharge.
If she is placed on a 14 day hold, she will be scheduled to have a hearing to see if there's still a reason for her to be there. A Patients' Rights Advocate will come and help her with the process, and represent her at the hearing.
