I wish they could hire more intelligent & caring people. This bunch cannot even understand the concept of a 1099. They are so inexperienced in life that all they know is a W-2. Then when they can't even speak English - there is absolutely no getting through to them. Even the security guards treat everyone with disdain. My question is: if these people hate other people so much - why are they even here? Surely there are other jobs that don't require public interaction. The Social Security Administration really shouldn't hire people who think they are better than you are, period.

helpful as always---sarcasm-quick to get you off the phone and in no way go an extra step to explain everything. just a number of course. And from the previous reviews I guess there is no one to talk to there that has a helpful bone in their body.

Customer service (or lack thereof) is absolutely appalling. They never answer the phone. I tried calling on behalf of a relative who has a language barrier and the claims representative assigned the case, Ms. Poghosyan, never answers the phone. I left multiple phone messages over several weeks and never received any call back. When I stay on the line to attempt to reach an operator, there is a brief wait and then inevitably there will be an automated message indicating the line is busy and it automatically hangs up. No one ever answers the phone or calls back when you leave a message. Further, going there in person is useless as an appointment is needed but I cannot even reach anyone by phone to make an appointment (almost like a catch 22) and they are operating in the dinosaur age- they do not have an online system to make appointments (unlike DMV which has greatly improved its service over the years). It’s almost like they are intentionally making it as hard as possible because they know the customer can’t really do anything about it, and even if people have legitimate complaints there are no repercussions.

I spoke with a representative over the phone and was pleasantly surprised firstly that it didn't take an hour long to get the call answered like it did when I called El Monte's location. The woman on the phone was cordial and very helpful. I wish I had picked up on her name. It was quick and painless. Thank you for making it so easy to speak to a human being.

They are not accepting face to face appointments at this time due to the remodeling of the office if an appointment is warranted then they will schedule a phone appointment with you. Or you can still visit your local office and check in at the automated kiosk and wait for your number to be called to speak to a representative.
You cannot currently schedule an appointment over the phone due to the office being remodeled. You will have to come in and speak to representative and if an appointment is needed they will call you at a specified time and conduct the interview iver the phone.
Try calling the office
