Plan to be there for a long time, we went there thinking we'll stay 2hrs max but you should stay longer if truly want to enjoy everything this Great Air Museum has to offer.
Yes, SR71, choppers outside, and few other planes.
You cannot actually get into any of the planes that I am aware of. However they do have some replicas inside the museum that you can sit in.
Heck yes. They have a scaffold to look inside of the cockpit of the sr71. You can go under and inspect the bottoms of several planes. They have many engines including an amazing GE version of a Whittle centrifugal compressor engine. A world class display.
Yes you can you can see the engines of some and the cockpits
There are a few select planes that you can look inside the cockpit, as well as some of thier inner mechanics
I agree with all of the previous comments. You should figure at least 4+ hours to take time to enjoy the displays. This Museum is constantly improving. I have visited them 4 times and each visit is even better!
Some of the larger planes may be open for you to walk into as well as unique helicopters and the Blackbird
Some of indoor aircraft have open cockpits.
