We are closely associated with Red Bucket Equine Rescue and regularly assist their efforts. Even my own daughter is a volunteer there. The policy on age is set at 16 for insurance purposes however, they also have a Jr Reds program that assist the nonprofit organization. For that, the responsibilities are geared towards age appropriate group supervised projects. The older group beyond 16 can obviously do more with subsequent equine training. Red Bucket Equine Rescue has such a training program (for obvious safety concerns with 1300 pound animals to be considered) for the regular over 16 program. For additional details I strongly encourage you to contact them either by phone directly or visit them on Sundays at their visitors center. Volunteering and helping Red Bucket Equine Rescue is a truly rewarding experience that I encourage you to experience for yourself and your children. You may also be able to find more information at WWW.REDBUCKETRESCUE.ORG . Hope this information helps!
