Is it better to purchase a visitor pass for a week in advance online or wait in person? Will is save me any time to do it in advance? Will there be a long line to buy the pass if I wait to purchase in person?

Order online, the lines can be up to a 3 hour wait to get a pass, then order your tickets for sunrise on Cadillac mountain at the same time. Better yet get the$80 pass and go see a second national park or third this year.

Do you have a Senior pass? If so, all you need is the sleeve too hold that pass on your rear view mirror

We were not able to buy pass online but were able to buy at the entry gate to the park.

Avoiding people is always better.

The process will be a lot more streamlined if you purchase online. Depending on the day and the time of day that you visit, you could incur long lines.
