Be sure to see if they have a time to have it done. They mix meds to relax the animal. Some places allow you to hold them and talk sweetly to them about how they were a great animal annd vital part of family. Tell them you love them and always will. The med will slowly send them to sleep. Then after they go, you have to decide on disposal of body
We had our elderly cat put to sleep about a month ago. I would call the office and let them know what you would like to put your dog to sleep and they will give you all the info. They were really great handling everything.
Make sure you bring proof of ownership. There are two steps. The first step puts them into sleep, the second step, lets them go to the Rainbow bridge. I've stayed for both and personally recommend leaving after the first step. After about 10 minutes of the first shot they are in a very deep sleep. Also, you can bring in the animals companion if you want to.
In October they helped me to put on my Victorian dog that was very hurt. Very kind and I am very grateful. For your help
