My son bought a used Leer shell ( c281856) off a private owner for a '96 Toyota Tacoma (extended Cab) and it just doesn't fit width wise (off about an inch+). What can I do to clamp it down properly. Can you help me solve my son's bad decision? HELP

One thing even when I bought a proper shell I had to have someone push in on both sides at the same time for it to fit the back of my truck properly otherwise each side stuck out about an inch to an inch and a half to wide on the back but with two people pushing in on both sides I was able to properly clamp it down then if it perfect also you can look up shell clamps on eBay and some shell companies sell them it's a thicker version of a C-clamp that holds from the top of the shell and underneath the railing in the bed for a really tight fit hope this helps

Hey Ron thanks for the quick response I do appreciate it. But the problem is it's not an inch+ too big It's an inch+ too small, so it needs to be pushed out but then the door doesn't close right. I'm very frustrated with my son's decision on this after I repeatedly told him it needs to fit a 97 Toyota Tacoma extended cab.
