I did not need a reservation but I did need to wait in line before I could enter.
If lines get too backed up which you might see on weekends they'll switch to a mobile reservation system. A cast member will see you trying to enter the line and will let you direct you to someone who will get your phone number and you'll be texted when to go back in line. In the mean time you get to roam around and enjoy other things.
They started with the reservation system early on, but they have switched to a normal line system a couple weeks ago.
No reservations needed. There might be a line to enter the store, but that moves quickly.
