It can always vary. Little or too much salt can be one. Jalapeños can be mild or hotter. One big thing, been going there since '78...our taste buds change as we get older. Eat to much hot chili, it destroys our taste buds. It has been consistent & even Manny being gone can have slight changes, like our cooking, even worst, our wife's.
I agree..new generation of cooks
Always been good to me an love the ice tea
We were there the other day & it tasted great.
Many changes since brothers pass away. Food is salty. Menu displays food items, missing is the price.
I not sure if Manny's specs have changed or my taste buds or ingredients have evolved. But I thought it was not the same as a few decades ago
Yeah, quality suffered when when he passed. Portions shrank, and I'm sure other cost cutting measures contributed to it as well. Our family has been coming here since the beginning, and we miss the good ole' days when it was at its best.
Yes, Manuel took his recipe with him, or it gave it to his son Poncho. I knew him personally we grew up together back in the early 70's I knew he opened a restaurant Called El Tepeyac #2, I have search for my old friend but no one would give me answers at his Dad's restaurant. I don't know why they are hiding this from the public. If you know anything about Poncho please contact me Thank you!
