@ Cheryl bender no it's not the same owners. Elena, the daughter of Manuel, and a cousin are running it, but everything is different because they cannot agree on how to run it. I have been going there since 1976 and been changing ever since Manuel passed.

I knew Poncho, Manuel's son we grew up together back in the early 70's great times he would have carnivals at his family home and invite neighborhood kids. I was a fan of their Hollenback burrito for many years. I left East LA back in the late 80's to SD and once in a while take the family to go eat there,I did notice that things aren't quite the same. I knew that Poncho opened his own restaurant Tepeyac #2 he must of closed, when I ask new management at restaurants nobody knew anything about my good old friend. It sad to see that when businesses our past from generation to generation or sold Family recipes our lost or taken elsewhere. If anyone can give me information on my friend Poncho Please contact me.
