I wouldnt say its kid friendly. Its considered an intermediate to expert trails there is rattle snakes also, but i have seen children their of different ages. That being said if you do desire to take yours kids i recommend you go in the morning around 6am - 8am not alot of parking and the sun can be pretty brutal after 10am. Other than that its a great place for a physical hike.
Not really ....unless you'll carry the 5 old 75% of the trail or manage to go down to the water tank maybe eagle nest and come back probably doable even if you carry your kid on . Bring water and companion. Morning or else you'll fine some rattle snakes or tarantulas at dawn or hot day.
I've seen little kids on the trail, if i had to guess i would say about 4-5 yrs old. That being said one of them was crying.
Nope
Some are others aren't, but I you have to know when to turn around since the way back is always uphill and there is a is only the Porta potty at the entrance..
Really tough hike not down but uphill...road is dirt and uneven and steep in some spots, the hike back up is a tough one...never made it to the top without being put of breath but the scenery and views are spectacular.
Maybe not so good for the 5 year old. It's about 2.5 miles downhill to the bottom, I ride mtn bike.
Probably not! I took my 13 year old with us and she's very athletic and at the end of the day she said she'd never do that particular hike again. I personally wouldn't trust it with children that young.
No.
