Walk to the grocery store, get some chicken and cook it on the grills by the river.
I was there last weekend, there's a Mexican restaurant we ate at and it was pretty good. Had really good margaritas too.
Just a short walk into Winthrop and you will find a host of pretty good places to eat. Try 3-Finger Jack's for fun. There's a craft beer place fairly newly opened that serves small plates and a goodly number of hand made beers and ciders. There's also a good Mexican place, 1821. Lots of other smaller places. For a real treat, drive a short way to Twisp and try Tappi's Italian restaurant --authentic and excellent.
We were there last week and didn't get in until around 8. Copper creek was one of the only available options that late. Although, the menu was rather small, and there was a table of obnoxiously loud women nearby, the food and service was rather good.
