Location is super nice! Love how close it is to downtown and the lake. Also love how close it is to several walks. The rooms are nice as well. Only complaint is that the unit struggles to stay cool when the outside temp gets above 90. Especially the upstairs. Guests upstairs are always sleeping hotter than downstairs so bring a fan to help move the air around.

Always enjoy our stay here. We've stayed during Thanksgiving a couple times. Quite a wonderful time to stay here. Fireworks display, hot air balloon, snow, etc. Perfect!

Front counter clerk was rude. When we arrived for our special celebratory holiday away and I realized we did not get a cabin by the river but instead got a cabin overlooking the parking lot and garbage dumpster I was disappointed. I asked the clerk politely if there was anything they could do. I explained this was a special occasion but she got very mean spirited and harsh stating that we should have known this was a “cozy” cabin and not delux. I asked if we could please be refunded to come back another time. She said I could leave but they would still charge my card. At every turn where she could have said something empathetic she was rude and abrupt. Things she might have said “I am so sorry you are disappointed, but you can still walk down to the river and I have a couple chairs here you may borrow to enjoy the river.” Or “I can’t refund your room but I can provide a 25.90 discount on your next booking and if you call directly I will make sure you get a river view”. Any number of kind gestures would have gone a long way toward making me feel less disappointed. But she offered nothing but rudeness. We have been coming to Winthrop for 40 years. If this is the new face of business in Winthrop I recommend a smaller town town trip where customers are valued and feel it.

Most things are provided, but make sure to bring paper towels and kitchen towels if you want more than one. Stayed 3 nights and our bath and hot tub towels were not refreshed as promised. The cabin was very nice and the view was beautiful. Rented a cabin with a view of the river.
