My current drivers license expires in Dec of this year. Can I come in any time before that date and get my Real ID drivers License. And would it expire from 5years on the date I got it or 5 years from the Original expiration date of Dec this year.

Yes, you can renew early, but you probably will not get the test waiver for having a clean driving record in previous 2 years, and it may be termed from last years birthday instead of next birthday; so you may lose one year. The Real ID/Driver License will require you submit your social security card and 2 pieces of mail addressed to you. I am a retired DMV employee.
