You have to get new plates every 7 years unfortunately. The reflective coating starts to bubble and peel is the easiest explanation. There is an Idaho code on your renewal notice but I don't know it without looking it up.

You should be able to keep your plates. you just have to take them in so they can print out new tags for them and verify that you have the plates in your name not someone else's and change it on your registration
