I don't really know and I wouldn't want to give false information that could potentially influence someone's decision. However I have heard that they do I guess you would have to go through the process and find out.
As a previous employee of Carmax as well as Ford and GM dealerships. I can tell you Carmax is more than fair with their offer. You can always expect to get a little more selling your car privately however you have to deal with the paperwork meeting people and length of time it takes to sell. When you trade your car into a regular dealership you never really know how much they give you for the car.
Yes, CarMax will buy your car yet beware of the buyers who enjoy offering a much lower price than you expect. You will be better off most of the time to sell your car on OfferUp or LetGo. From a previous employee of CarMax.
