I am asking a question on behalf of an owner of Goodman Air Conditioning unit with an electric heat pump. The unit is 24 years old and the model is A32-10. The owner wants to know if a filter MERV 13 can be used in the unit to improve air.

Todd is correct but due to the age of your unit the efficiency will not inprove. It is time for you to think about a new system.

Yes combined with a UV light and air cleaner the air quality will improve even more. Also with the age of the unit it might be time to look into an upgrade on a new system.
