My cat has been missing since Monday he has a chip but do I need to come in to see if someone dropped him there....going crazy can't find him anywhere

If the your number is still current on the chip you will be contacted. It's still good to check though. Iirc they hold the animals for at least one full week before putting them up for adoption. It's also possible your cat is still hanging out in the area so try to get the message it to your community as well.

Put the animal up on the Nextdoor app, Pawboost App, Craigslist. Also do not forget to ask your neighbors?

You should go in to check as they also have a book full of lost and found animals that you can look in or put in your own missing animal document. I hope you find your cat! The microchip is really good to have, I wish you all the best.
