The following is all gossip and hearsay, and I don't guarantee accuracy in the details. I hear that Turk was a very well known supporting actor from the silver screen who was the go-to guy for strong men like Hercules. He opened an elegant restaurant on Street of the Green Lantern in the late 1960s, at which he employed only experienced European waiters. He apparently opened 2 bars when he sold the restaurant to the "Quiet Cannon" (now Cannon's), and required the new owner of the one in Sunset Beach to spell its name with a final "c" when he in turn sold it. I believe his lovely daughter has now inherited this place on the "warf."
Turk as I recalled, was an old actor who played a pirate in a lot of old pirate movies in the late thirties forties and maybe fifties. I believed he purchased the old street car railroad ticket station in Sunset beach sometime in the fifties. He converted The old building into a bar he named Turks. He sold that one in the Late sixties or early seventies and open up another bar which he named Turks in Dana Point
My son live Clark Skeen lives in Laguna Niguel ,... We went to Turk,s restaurant in Dana Point . Clark introduced me to Turk and he sat in our booth and told me he starred in Hercules and different movies. I have a picture of us Turk and I also a napkin that reads Love Turk
Turk is the name of the old guy who runs the tavern he is grouchy but really cool
I'm not sure but I'm going to find out :)
Actually played Hercules, the original one, then continued to play Hercules. Yes, the one in Dana Point is the most famous..
Not sure, I know he owned 2 places and the names had to be spelled different. They have loads of their history displayed on the walls of the restaurant. Great eats
