I just bought a Jotul F400. The instructions say that a bottom heat shield is included with the stove, and there was a precut and scored piece of metal included, but without any instructions as to how to bend it and attach it to the stove.

You should call the local dealer that you purchased the stove from. They will help you.

Look on page 19 of your manual for part number 42. This will give you an idea of how it lines up. There are two bolts on the underside of the ash pan that will secure the sheild in place. The wings can be bent to whatever desired angle will look best. Hope that helps!
