I was divorced 38 years ago and remarried 30 years ago which my drivers license shows my married name. Do I have to show my divorce paperwork and marriage certificate to get the real id? Its so old that I will have to request through CA archives.

Hi, I don't believe that's part of the request they ask for a RealID. I had to download my birth certificate and 3 other items. Fyi, if you download your B.C. through your computer and it's over the 2MB, then downloaded through your phone. They do have a categories of different forms you can use to get your REALID.

Thank you. I did fill out the application and it said that you have to proof of every name change. I will ask a live person at dmv.

I would call the DMV for that info, but I would say that if you had a druvers license or ID in your maiden name then you probably won't need the divorce or marriage paperwork. Really you should have your social security number updated with whatever name you go by, and you will need 2 pieces of mail, and some kind of picture ID.
