There are some public parking around Chinatown. We used north beach parking, $14 per day with coupon
Depending where you start there are several in area all.near same in price. If you do tourist route via the dragon gate your best bet might be the Stockton garage.i has exits near or across from it.I'd advise walking the area esp since the since many street are narrow just big enough for 1 car at time The Grand ave. Route is the glitzy touristy spot BUT if you go all way down to the end at Broadway and Columbus you might find some interesting shops. But China town is more than one strip. Go up explore area around Stockton st much history there. Go down to Kearny st across from the Holliday inn you'll notice the bridge btwn it & the park across the street. It links the 2nd level of the park to the hotel. Was there when opened. Although cosmetic changes were added since then. There is a parking lot below the park. Primary entry exit is from Kearney st. Look around the area . .more commercial then decades past you'll find the Transamerica Pyramid a few blocks away towards market st
Public parking is bad in this area. The best thing to do is to use a parking garage to avoid a break in or to avoid being towed.
