No fee to walk in.
Yep. Check at entrance see if you can park at visitor station parking .
You can walk in at various locations. There is a parking lot to the north of the campground that is a good area to enter the beach.
There is a day time parks next to the camp ground outside of the gate where you can park for free and you won't have to go down 200 ft of stairs either. If you drive a couple miles into downtown Carlsbad there is a beautiful beach with lots of parking and probably a better beach than that at the camp grounds. The at the campground is pretty rocky but still a good beach.
No, you have to check in with the security guard and you have to either be renting the camp ground or you have to be a visitor with the info for the camp #. Their private beach is so nice though!
Great beach. But always crowded. Check with the visitor station. Always lines at check in time.
